The 190 models were planned as a replacement for the older 'ponton' models. They can be identified by the round headlights, the 220 models had larger headlights which included foglights and indicators. The 190 models also had a shorter bonnet than the 220 models. They also miss the airvent on the C-pillar. A single bumper at the front and back and simpler rearlights are further identification points. The 190 D with a diesel engine was especially appreciated by taxi drivers. In 1965, these cars were replaced by the 200 and 200 D.
