The 200 models were the replacements for the 190 models. These new cars were easy enough to tell apart from the earlier models because they had large new light clusters underneath their headlamps which contained the indicators. The 190 and 190D had indicators on the front wings near the window. These second generation W110 also had extra chrome on their boot lids as well on the air-outlet on the C-pillar. The rearlights were modernised a bit. The 230 is virtually the same car as the 200 but with a six cilinder engine. It was planned as an cheaper version for those who want to enjoy a six cilinder engine but found the 220 cars to expensive. The 230 has got the shorter bonnet and the single front and back bumper from the 200 models. There was also a 230S which had the longer body of an 220.
